A good place for Friday night drinks in Marunouchi
Located between Tokyo and Yurakucho Stations, PCM has a nice little outdoor section out front that is a great place for drinks on a Friday night. On fine nights, it gets crowded here, but if you can carve yourself, a bit of space it's a fun spot. In side is a bit 'glam' and fancy for this reviewer. There are lots of guys here who clearly spend a lot of time preening in front of a mirror. The music tends to be of a housey style, and I looks like some people are here on the prowl for a phone number. Not that it's a sleazy place. Far from it. It's too expensive for a start; bottles of beer (Heartland, Heiniken) start at 600 yen, cocktails from 700 yen and up. They serve food here, but on a Friday night it doesn't seem like the kind of place you'd want to come for a meal. A times it can require a bit of wait to get served at the bar here. The staff word fast, but this place is popular (on a Friday night), so you may need to show a little patience. There are no queues to get in though, and no dress code (as far as I'm aware). Like I said, the best place to be is outside. Here the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Most of the drinkers have come from the surrounding offices, and you'll find plenty of expats and business trippers here, too. It's easy to get a conversation going, and hopefully you'll be able to mingle with the locals, too. A downside to this PCM though, is that it's quire isolated as a drinking spot. When you're ready to move on, there isn't really anywhere to move on to nearby, which is a shame, as PCM would make a great stop on a longer night out. It's dead on Saturday nights, before you ask.
