Phenomenal bakery treats that really push the boundaries

If you want a really unique eating experience, heading to Dominique Ansel Bakery is something you should add to your to-do list. There are two locations in Tokyo - situated in two of the fanciest neighborhoods - Omotesando and Ginza. The Omotesando location is off the main drag in the back streets, but you will usually be met with a line of people all wanting to try some of these special desserts. If you don't know who Dominique Ansel is, he is the creator of the cronut - but the retail stores offer more than just that! There are all manner of tasty breads, macarons, and other unique desserts. The cronut flavors change month to month, so you'll always see something new on the menu, and they also often do seasonal sweets (when we visited most recently, they had a lineup of Valentine's Day inspired yummies - perfect to enjoy with your significant other). If I had to make one recommendation though, it would be the frozen s'more. Next level amazing! Only downside are the prices - they're not cheap, but for the work that seems to go into each piece justifies it. Also, the staff member who served us spoke perfect English, possibly to assist with the large number of tourists the bakery attracts.
