Inexpensive, tasty Thai - try the lunch specials!
Situated directly across the road from Yokota Air Base on Route 16, Khao Man Gai is a little Thai restaurant that's unmissable because of the tuk-tuk and the beach umbrellas out the front. If you didn't take in the surroundings across and beside the restaurant here, you would be forgiven for thinking you'd ended up in Thailand somewhere. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of seating, and it often does fill up quickly with service men and women grabbing some lunch from the base across the street. However, on days when you can snag a seat it's a great spot to get some authentic tasting Thai food. Their lunch specials include a main dish and then all you can eat rice, soup, and curry, so it really is a good deal. Their pad kra pao gai (Thai Basil Chicken) is delicious and the portion sizes are very reasonable as well.
