Relaxing Traditional Onsen Hotel

This resort hotel is a comfortable, Japanese-style onsen hotel in the middle of a region known for its vineyards. The hotel, in fact, is known for its wine baths. These wine baths, located on the seventh floor of the hotel give bathers a good view of Mt. Fuji. The hotel itself is fancy, but not new. There are many different sitting areas. Several had Mt. Fuji sofas in them! There were also very large meeting/conference rooms available. The bedrooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms. The room I was in, on the third floor, was really beautiful, and comfortable and felt new. It also had a nice view of the very top of Mt. Fuji. The Alps were visible from some of the other rooms. While guests are at dinner, the staff will enter the room and make up the futons. Dinner is a homemade Japanese set meal with several courses served in the dining room. Breakfast is buffet style, with both Western and Japanese food, but leaning more towards the Japanese side. The food was all excellent! And no fear of being hungry, as the course dinner had a lot of courses and was very filling when all done. In addition to the wine baths, there are normal indoor/outdoor onsen baths for men and women on the 1st floor. Not large, but very relaxing. If bathing with others is not your thing, this place also pipes onsen water into EVERY room, so you can take a bath in your room and still get all the benefits of the onsen water!
