Local community centre with extended hours and great classes

Fukuhara Community Centre is an old building, but it is quite well maintained. The main attraction of this local centre is that they have really great classes. It is also very useful that they open seven days a week for extended hours. There are a number of different types of rooms inside the building, including meeting halls and/or multi-purpose rooms of various sizes. The room I am most familiar with is the "washitsu", a traditional Japanese style room with tatami mats, sliding doors and shōji. It is a large washitsu with at least 16 tatami mats. There is at least one small room off it with all the paraphernalia for practicing a green tea ceremony, complete with an outdoor drain indoors! I have never seen a room of this type on the 2nd floor in this type of community centre. I don't know if they currently have a green tea making class, but they have done in the past. I personally go to Mama Yoga in this room. The full list of the classes available with their schedule is on the website which is part of Kawagoe city's official website. You can also pick up leaflets in the foyer of the centre, which also has a small library area with general information for kawagoe too. The centre is open 7 days a week from 8.30 am to 9.30 pm, but the reception desk is only open from 8.30 am to 5.15 pm Monday to Friday. You can get information online about how to rent a room there. However, the website is in Japanese only. There is free parking out front for about 25 cars.
