    Affordable and Fun in Osaka

The Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum is a great way to spend some time if you're looking to save some money. Entry into the museum is free and much of the museum provides English explanations. The best part? You can make your own cup noodles for just ¥300. Decorate your cup and then let the staff add your choice of toppings. You can watch the whole process through a glass screen, even the sealing of the cup. You can then place your noodles in a protective bag which you blow up, saving them from a rough journey home. The museum also gives you a look into the history of instant noodles, starting with the famous Chicken Ramen. There are approximately 800 packets of Ramen on display in the Instant Ramen Tunnel. If you have kids, they will love the Instant Ramen Factory where you can make your own chicken Ramen from scratch, including the kneading of the flour dough. The downside, it can get a little busy and you can find yourself amongst swarms of school children racing to make their noodles. Only 18min from Hankyu-Umeda station on the express train, and a short walk from the station, it's a fun, family friendly trip that won't cost you an arm and a leg.
