Amazing honey products and excellent ice-cream

This shop is very popular with tourists and is widely recognised as having one of the most delicious ice-cream in Kawagoe. You can have it with honey. Sugi Honey Bee, or Sugi Yohoen in Japanese,is actually a chain store and they have branches in other parts of Japan. The shop in Kawagoe is bright and airy and very well presented. Their business is honey, but they have a wide array of honey products. Their flavoured syrups are divine and you can sample almost everything they sell, before purchasing. They have sample bottles for most all of their produce and you can use a little spoon and walk along and pump each product on the spoon for tasting. The syrups can be eaten plain or on natural yogurt, cream, cakes or anything that takes your fancy. There is a lady there who speaks fluent English. She was very helpful and volunteered information about their point card. If you make a point card you get a discount on produce. You can also opt to have special offers sent to your online mail. They open seven days a week from 9 am to 5.45 pm. Sometimes they close earlier on a Monday for stock taking. You can ring in advance to find out if you plan to go on a Monday. They are on the main tourist bus route as well as a number of Tobu bus routes. The nearest station is Hon-kawagoe, its about a 15 minute walk or 5 minutes on the bus. There is no parking nearby.
