A nice coffee break stop
The Mister Donuts in Yume Town (right next to the entrance across from Xebio Sports and Nitori, on the first floor), is bigger and less crowded than the location in Nishitetsu Kurume Station / near the bus center. Probably the best thing about Misudo for me is the coffee. It might take a while for staff to come around with the coffee pot, but when you eat in the store, they will give you free refills of coffee. And their coffee is really good, I think it's the same as Dunkin' Donuts in the US. If you want to sit in the restaurant all day drinking coffee (if you can handle that), it's still just 250 yen plus tax for their blend hot coffee. I like that. This time I picked out a caramel cinnamon bar, which has caramel filling on the inside, plus a coconut chocolate donut. I like to try new / seasonal items, but otherwise stick with a few selected things that always sound good. It's not often they sell matcha donuts, but those are my favorite. One of these days, I need to try the “San Francisco Dim Sum” that's offered at Misudo. I kind of forget they have a food menu of Chinese style noodles and dumplings, but I often see people eating them. It's probably a healthier choice than donuts, especially at lunchtime, and they have meal sets that include a donut and a drink. I was surprised to see they are still selling fukubukuro at the Yume Town location, plus they have a promotion to get a 500 yen gift card, but I doubt I can collect enough (12) coupons for it. Another funny observation is that all of the staff and guests in the store were women, at least while I was there, on a weekday while a lot of people are in the office.
