Delicious Korean fried chicken
I have recently been all over the Korean fried chicken trend. I crave it and would eat it for every meal if I could! I've tried a bunch of places in Yokohama, but I decided to head to Tokyo's Koreatown, Shin-Okubo, to expand my horizons. 678 Chicken came highly recommended. Actually, the first time I went on a holiday, the line was down the stairs and almost around the block (it's on the second floor of a building). I passed. I went in the afternoon on a Saturday the next time, and was seated in less than 5 minutes. The food and drink menu is pretty big! For a group of 4, we split a whole chicken, a bottle of makgeolli, and fries. We got the boneless sample platter, which had original fried, shoyu, and spicy chicken flavors. They were all delicious, but spicy may have been my favorite. The makgeolli came in a bowl with a spoon, and it felt like more than just a single bottle... The fries were the only disappointment. They were garlic cheese fries, but the cheese was sweet, which really threw everything off. I definitely will be back again for the chicken. They also offer takeaway options, so I can skip the queue altogether next time and enjoy the chicken as fast as possible!
