Cute and tasty Anpanman character bread

Uncle Jam's Bakery is in the free part of Anpanman Children's Museum Mall. It doesn't get very good reviews online, so I wasn't expecting much. Maybe that is why I was pleasantly surprised and quite liked it. It is my favourite shop in the Anpanman mall. Despite bad reviews it is very popular. In the morning there are more people queuing for the bakery than the museum. You can expect to queue for at least 20 minutes anytime of the day on the weekend. It might be better most weekdays, but I was there once on a weekday and queued just as long. They let people in in groups for an allocated period of time. They let the next group in even if there are still people loitering from the previous group. They replenish the bread frequently. They have all the most famous characters faces on their bread. The bread is shaped and coloured very similar to how the characters appear in the show. And many of them taste as their name suggests; Melonpan man tastes like Melon bread, Currypan man is curry flavoured etc. For my kids it was very hard for them to pick just four! But at 300 yen a piece you wouldn't be buying them in bulk. You can buy the bread and take it away, which is what we have done on each of our visits, or you can sit in. The main seating is upstairs. If you take it away you get a nice Anpanman box. If you sit in you can get latte art of one of the characters. The mall is open from 10 am to 7 pm. Parking is shared with the museum and costs 520 yen for the first hour and 270 yen for every additional 30 minutes.
