I went looking for this place the last time I was in Shimokitazawa, but they've unfortunately closed. Not sure how long ago it happened, but their most recent Google review was 4 years ago, so it seems like it was a pre-pandemic thing. It's a shame because the food looked good!

Pancakes in a fancy area!
The Nine Pancake House is located in a side street of the fancy area of Shimokitazawa. I actually was planing to go to another pancake restaurant, but there to many people were lining up. So, I looked around the streets and found this small shop. There only two women were lining up and the waiting time was not so long. They only have a small room with about four tables and six counter seats. Because they are making the dishes behind the counter you can easily watch how they make them. However, because of this it is also a bit loud inside the cafe. The menu consist of different style pancakes, from plain ones, over choco banana, strawberry cream, blueberry cream cheese and other toppings. They also have non-sweet versions with scrumbled egg or baggon. I had the fresh fruit one, which is quite expensive with 1598 yen, but also was very delicious. Since all the dishes are made freshly, it can take around 20 minutes until you get your ordered food. Next to pancakes they also offer a few other dishes, such as crepes and a lot smoothie drinks.
