    Still a fan

I have been back to Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park several times since I first wrote a review for it. And I still love it and recommend it for a family day out or for a scenic walk, in certain seasons, such as wintersweet season. Last week I went to see the wintersweet garden in the park while it was approaching full bloom. I had timed it wrong in previous years and was glad to see it in its glory this year. It is not a particularly large wintersweet garden, I think I saw somewhere it has about 150 trees, but it is beautifully done.

All you could need for a day out in Tokorozawa

Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park is one of the best thought out parks in my humble opinion. We don't live in Tokorozawa, but anyone who does is lucky to have this central recreation area on their doorstep. The park has lots to do for families, particularly on a sunny day. It is also a good location on a rainy day, thanks to the indoor facilities located on the perimeters of the park. They include Tokorozawa library and the excellent Aviation Museum. There are also other municipal facilities as well as cafes and restaurants. On a fine day, the park has a brilliant playground with lots of varied equipment, with something for all ages, even for the youngest of children. In the summer they have a wading river. The park hosts a number of family friendly events as well as a popular flea market. Parking is charged, but is very reasonable at 200 yen a day. By train Kōkū-kōen station on the Seibu Shinjuku line is right beside the park.
