Ginza Cozy Corner

Products taste great, but store policies are rigid

This is a disclaimer first of all to say that I love Ginza Cozy Corner and their products. This store is perfect in terms of the products they create - the only downside is that they are rigid in terms of their policies. My daughters birthday is a few days after Christmas, and previously when we lived in Tokyo we would purchase a bear birthday cake from another chain Japanese bakery. It had become something of a tradition and we were glad to see that Ginza Cozy Corner also do a bear cake. Sadly, over the Christmas period though, they don’t make these - instead making a range of Christmas cakes. Wonderful if you’re celebrating Christmas, kind of lame if you’re a parent trying to make your child’s birthday still feel special and not like Christmas (especially since so many other people seem to blend it all into the one celebration). We ended up purchasing a cake from a local bakery that was cheaper and isn’t a chain.
