Traditional teahouse within the Adachi Museum of Art
If you’re headed to the Adachi Museum of Art, you’ll have a choice of two teahouses to attend if you wish. One is a more modern style with regular table seating, the other is a tatami flooring traditional style teahouse. I went for the traditional style teahouse which costs 1500 yen and comes with matcha and a yokan style sweet. The views at the teahouse here are breathtaking, and I would have visited for that alone. The inside of the teahouse is beautiful in its simplicity and enjoyable to look around. Depending on the number of other visitors at the time, your experience will be shared with others - I actually enjoyed this since I had people helping me with the Japanese. Everything is explained in Japanese so if your language capability isn’t the best it can be hard to follow, but I just watched the others in the group when I wasn’t sure. Worth a visit if you love tea and Japanese sweets in beautiful settings.
