    Modern relaxing decor, trendy ambiance

Tempo Kitchen and Gallery is located right behind Hase Station on the Enoden Line as you head toward the Great Buddha of Kamakura. The convenient location and the outdoor seating were a big pull for me with my two thirsty kids. However, it wasn't an ideal place with children even though they advertise "kids drinks". I ordered two juice for my children that was presented in large glasses which is unusual in Japan. Most places give you plastic cups for young children. It was very nice to be able to sit outside in the chairs handmade from natural wood, but the wobbly home made brick paving was an accident waiting to happen. Which it did! I think this place would be lovely for a couple of friends wanting a relaxed coffee, but it is not suited to large groups as it is very small. The one and only staff serves you from a window if you sit outside. The latte comes as coffee and milk in two separate jugs that you mix yourself. There is a small gallery in the indoor seating area, where there is also one unisex toilet.
