A great resource for fancy foods and gifts

I used to turn to this DEAN & DELUCA when I needed to get nice gifts that weren't cute, and showed a slight touch of class. For some reason, people back home like the multipurpose bags you can buy here. This is also a good place to get jams and condiments that you'll never find in a Kaldi, let alone a regular supermarket. For classy cookies, chocolates, and candy, DEAN & DELUCA is safe bet. They always have snack-based gift sets for times when you're in a bit of an emergency. This branch hosts a small cafe, deli, and bakery. The cakes, and pastries here are, in my opinion, some of the most appealing in the city (and comparatively not so expensive). That being said, most of the items here will require you to dig deep into your pockets. This is not a place for a daily shop (unless you really have money to burn). No, come here for your (very) special treats, things that can remind you of home when there's no chance of finding them anywhere else, and classy (if a bit thoughtless) gifts! The Yurakucho store isn't big, but it packs a fair bit in, and is good for a bit of a browse (and a drool), too. Gift wrapping is available (free, I think), but even if you don't take that option, you'll still come away with a shopping bag that you can show off and pretend to be a cut above the rest. I've never had super friendly service here, and sometimes feel that the quality of the goods has gone to staff members' heads. Still, the service is efficient enough, I guess.
