For Visitors who do not live in Japan

If you already live in Japan, then there is no point in spending too much time here as you can find Don Quijote anywhere. However, for those coming from overseas and visiting Japan, this is cheap goods and snacks paradise, and everytime I visit this location, I hear all sorts of languages being spoken by people with baskets of stuff. The reason why I stop by is usually to grab a drink on the go. Those who are staying at a hotel nearby can also stock up on food here if they want to!

    Always filled with randomness

Like some of the other reviews, the presence of a Don Quijote along Kokusai Dori begs the question of "why?" to a degree, but there's also an irresistible pull into the store! It's a one stop shop for anything you may have forgotten to pack if you're a tourist visiting Okinawa (toiletries, snacks, drinks, whatever!), and there are also a host of souvenirs. Personally I try to opt for smaller stores when I'm picking up souvenirs, but each to their own!

    if bored, have a look!

This place has a lot to offer, if you are looking for a certain cosmetic or skin care product but you want to check different brands. I also found some products, at affordable prices, that I wasn't able to find at similar Japanese drug stores. Sometimes, I just check the store to see what new items it has to offer.

24-hour Don Quijote adds to the Kokusai Dori shopping madness

Quite why Kokusai Dori should need a Don Quijote is anyone’s guess. Still, the Don Quijote chain is a fun one and can, at times, come in handy. On top of this, Kokusai Dori is largely devoted to souvenir shopping, and Don Quixote is something of a Japan-novelty specialist in this field if not particularly authentic Okinawan. This is a large branch serving up the standard Don Quixote fare on a prime bit of Kokusai Dori real estate about 300m southwest of Makishi station. The massive yellow katakana signage is there - ドン。キホーテ - so you can’t miss it. The busy looking branch is packed to the rafters with the usual Don Quijote madness - everyday essentials from food to pharmaceuticals sitting alongside bits and bobs that you emphatically don’t need, but are hilarious nonetheless - Mexican wrestling masks, beer caps et al. You’ll also find booze, cigarettes, and some tax-free options. Credit card is accepted as are IC cards from other parts of Japan such as “PASMO”, “Suica”, “toica” and “ICOCA”. Somewhere this branch of Don Quijote has its own parking area, but I was on foot so didn’t have the need to seek it out (I just saw a sign). This Don Quijote in central Naha is pretty much like any other then. Whether or not this a good thing is for others to decide, but I quite like them every now and then.
