Coffee place that doesn't feel like Japan
I had seen a number of blogs about Little Darling online which was what prompted my visit. Something about the design of this place takes me right back to Australia - it's open and airy and spacious, reminding me a lot of coffee shops back home. I only got coffee, but they do have quite a decent lineup of food options too, including burgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, and more. Aussies will be pleased to know that flat whites are on their coffee menu, and they also have other milks rather than dairy including oat and soy milk. They even have beer if that's more your jam. Definitely a place I'd return to when I'm in the area.

Fashionable and popular cafe and restaurant
Perhaps it was because of the beautiful weather, or perhaps it was because the cafe itself is something special, but the line was out the door. I had to wait almost fifteen minutes before reaching the counter to order. Only when I was a few feet from the counter was I able to see the menu, so I felt like I was rushed in deciding what I want. They're known for their coffee (if you couldn't tell from the name) but they also have been pushing bao. I still think coffee and bao is a weird combination, but since they were advertising it I wanted to try it out. I ended up getting a cold brew coffee and shrimp cutlet bao. I thought the wait would be longer for it to come out, but it was less than five minutes. The coffee tasted good, but because it was cold brew, it was a little strong for my liking. But they roasted it well. I stand by bao not going well with coffee, but on its own it was delicious. The interior was extremely spacious and very fashionable. I guess that's what you expect from a cafe in Aoyama. Though the line was so long, a lot of people weren't choosing to eat inside. They were either getting it to go, or enjoying it out on the grassy lawn in front of the shop. When the weather is poor, I'm sure the interior will be packed.
