    Good value lunch set

Spanish Diner Festa Mario, not far from Kashiwa Station east exit, is the reincarnation of a former Italian restaurant. And it’s menu bears a resemblance to that previous pizza-pasta place. The lunch set for ¥1150 presents choices of salad, paella and pizza. I opted for the garden salad with mayonnaise-based dressing and four cheese pizza. The dressing on the small mountain of salad had notes of sharp cheese, dare I say blue, which is a rare flavor in Japan. The four cheese pizza is the size of the dinner plate. It’s baked in the proper pizza oven that remains from the Italian era, so the crust has a good chewy and crunchy texture. The server brought us a pot of honey to dribble over the pizza. Our lunch was wrapped up with good quality coffee. Service is polite and prompt.
