An oasis from some of the Tokyo summer heat - but bring the bug spray
When we visit friends or relatives in Tokyo, we often head to Arisugawa Park for the kids to play at. It's a nice spot for the kids to stretch their legs with plenty of open space, beautiful ponds, play equipment and more. I particularly like it in the warmer months if we're in the city and need to get outside because so much of it is well shaded, but with that comes some challenges too! I feel like the park is often mosquito central - probably owing to the fact that there are bodies of water in the park that they hang around. If you are heading there, be sure to do whatever you need to in order to keep those mozzies away! Bug spray, mosquito repellent bracelets - whatever you can! Other than that I think it's a really pleasant park that offers some shade from the hot weather that can feel stifling in the city at this time of year.
