    Xiao Long Bao!

If you want to get some food xiao long bao (soup dumplings), Din Tai Fung is a great choice. The location is easy to access, but as others have pointed out, just expect that the restaurant will be crowded as well, so plan your meal time accordingly. The rush does affect the service, and it makes what would have otherwise been a delicious meal a bit stressful. Xiao long bao is also something that can rack up in price if you eat a lot, so keep that in mind too.

Conveniently located Din Tai Fung branch

I got hooked on Din Tai Fung on a visit to Singapore several years ago, so whenever I'm at a store location elsewhere I have to indulge. This branch of the popular chain is very conveniently located within the Takashimaya Yokohama branch, and the food has always been solidly good on our visits. If you're visiting with kids they do have a kids menu (very handy!) and they have English menus too if it's easier! The soup dumplings are so good, but there's plenty more on their menu including some great noodle dishes and fried rice to name just a couple. Credit cards are accepted.

    Din Tai Fung

This Din Tai Fung restaurant is locate in Takashimaya Yokohama Store, which is right next to Yokohama Station. This location is definitely a lot smaller than the Shinjuku one that I've been to before. Their menu seemed smaller too, as well with their portion sizes. Like most locations, this popular chain gets PACKED! I recommend going when they open, or when you aren't hungry. Since this location is smaller, the wait time may be a little longer. One thing that really bothered me at this location was the service. I felt rushed and not welcomed the entire time. They seemed to be understaffed as no one would come take our order for a very long time. We had to try wave them down, since no one seemed to look towards us and avoided any eye contact. After we ordered, our check came instantly. It was as though they wanted us to get out so they could seat their waiting list outside. I wanted to order more, but felt as though we should leave. Our food did take some time to come out as well. There was a long interval between some of our orders. I was quite shocked at my experience, since Japan is known for their impeccable service. I most likely will not return to this location. At this time they also had a Cherry Blossom Sakura Xiao Long Bao (XLB). It reminded me of their dessert ones they have, but I did not get to try it since they had already given us our check. It looks good though!
