Outdoor dining with food trucks
When the first iteration of Commune closed down, I was devastated. I didn't get the chance to check it out before it shuttered for good, so when I heard that a second iteration opened up in a permanent location, I wanted to check it out. I kept putting it off but eventually, I made my way over. It was a really cool scene to check out. There were food trucks everywhere with a variety of different menu items. I think the thing that I liked the most was that the trucks offered dishes that weren't usually seen in Japan. For example, there were multiple places that had vegan options! Seating can be a bit harder to find, especially when you go in the evening and you're in a large group. I went at around 6pm on a Saturday evening with a group of four, which checks all the boxes for "difficult to do". I'd recommend sending someone to scout for seats while the others get the food. We made the mistake of getting food then looking, but it took us almost half an hour to find seats. So by that time, we had picked at most of the food and what was left was already cold. It was still a really great experience, though. The food was a bit pricey (especially for what you got) but I think it was a combination of the area and the ~cool~ atmosphere of it all. I'd like to go again and check out new carts this time, as well as see what different seasonal offerings are available.
