Excellent Sake with Tasting!

The guy behind the counter talked to me in English really freely. If I'd continued in Japanese I'm sure he would have tried to work with me in Japanese. He asked if I wanted to sample the sake in the machine and when I said yes, he gave me a small glass and advised me to only press the dispensing button once per sample. I asked him about the details of the sake in the machine and he went on to explain some of the defining characteristics of each. The first two options are both very popular within the brand and the last two were seasonal varieties. I tried each of the popular ones and the winter variety, of which I found the first one to be too delicious. It came with no aftertaste so I decided not to buy it as I would likely drink too much of it too quickly. The second had more of a sake aftertaste but was still very clean and crisp, so I bought some of it and as I was making this decision, the man asked if I also enjoy a sample of umeshu. He also brought a bottle with the character for that special Japanese citrus, and I asked to make sure that it was indeed yuzu, which he let me sample as well. I bought a bottle of the yuzu as well and it was delicious. Great service and in English!
