PRIZE-WINNing posts

At the heart of these blogging themes is foreign residents of Japan sharing practical advice, tips and insights about aspects of life in Japan, based on real experiences - the good, the bad and everything in between.

Bonus point prize-winning posts will be selected by the City-Cost team based on the above spirit of these blog posts along with extra considerations that include the following:

Useful, accessible advice: Posts offering advice that is comprehensive and easy to follow, filling in, as much as possible, gaps in understanding that allow the reader to approach the challenge -- however niche, unique or common -- of getting things done in Japan feeling confident that they will indeed be able to get these things done.

Authenticity: Whatever the topic or the experience, however universal or unique, posts that can convey your real and felt personal experience (good, bad or otherwise) in regards to the topic, in order to put the reader in your shoes. This applies to both words and the images used in the posts.

Fresh, up-to-date: Given that a great variety of topics has been addressed already through these blogging themes, those posts that draw on fresh experience to deliver up-to-date information and insight into familiar topics and / or posts that reveal a savvy toward current needs, trends and issues facing foreigners living in Japan.

NEW TO city-cost?

City-Cost continues to aim to be a platform through which foreigners living in Japan can find and share advice, tips and insights to help them make the most of life in Japan.

One of the ways to do this is through creating a blog on City-Cost and sharing experiences through blog posts.

Currently available “blogging themes” can be found on your account “My Page” - these themes offer both ideas of topics to blog about, as well as the chance to get extra points which can be exchanged once a month for shopping vouchers.

To submit a blog post through the blogging themes on City-Cost:

1) Login to your City-Cost account

2) Head to your “My page”

3) Select from available blogging themes and read the description / requirements

4) Create your post and add images through the text editor
