The description

This product is the new "Mocchurin Kinako" donut, and it's part of a three-donut range at Mister Donut stores for a limited time. It was priced at 216 yen.

The good

One dessert/sweets flavor that I've really gotten into over my years here is kinako, or roasted soybean powder. It's made its way onto the new "Mocchurin Kinako" donut available from Misdo stores for a limited time, and it's well worth the purchase if you're also a fan! As you can probably derive from the name, this is a soft and chewy mochi-style donut that comes coated in kinako powder. It also comes in super cute packaging if that's a factor in your purchasing decisions! It's also the cheapest option in this mochi donut range, so if you're watching your budget and want to try just one, this is the best value IMO!

The not so good

Like a lot of Japanese sweets flavors, I feel like kinako is very much a "you love it or you hate it" vibe. If you're not a fan of that earthy kinda taste, then this might not be the best option for you -- I'd probably pick the strawberry if you want a more Western-style flavor. Overall though, I really enjoyed this! The texture of the donut is fantastic, and as I mentioned being a kinako fan this was right up my alley. Keep an eye out at your nearest Mister Donut store for this if it sounds appealing to you -- happy eating! :)
