Strawberry to me is the taste of winter in Japan, and this Strawberry Milk Malasada from Starbucks is a recent addition to their seasonal menu. You could say it's similar to a donut, and it has a filling of strawberry cream and milk cream, along with a dusting of powdered sugar on the outside. The filling really does a great job of replicating the strawberry milk taste, so I've got no complaints in that regard! In terms of the price, it's fairly on par with seasonal donuts at places like Mister Donut, so I don't think it's too bad for what you get. It's cheaper than a lot of the other Starbucks desserts, so I count that as a (small!) win.

I'm not always the biggest fan of desserts that opt for the powdered sugar outer, as I feel like they end up being pretty messy to eat. Not a deal breaker, but just something to be aware of for expectation management. Also, if you find yourself really enjoying this, it's only a limited time thing. They have had other malasadas in the past, but I don't know if this flavor will make a comeback after the initial release. If it sounds like a must try item for you, I would suggest heading in to your nearest Starbucks store sooner rather than later. Happy eating! :)
