Enrollment in the National Pension Plan at the Age of 20


Everyone living in Japan who is between 20 and 59 years old is asked to enroll in the National Pension Plan and to pay the premium. There is no exception for foreigners. (Those who are enrolled in Employee’s Pension Insurance System/Mutual Aid Associations do not need to enroll.) Please contact your local ward office, National Pension Division for more details.
