Indulging Myself in a Taste of Hanami

Gallery

Spring season is not over yet. However, Hanami, which is also known as flower viewing, has already ended in many areas of the country. And unfortunately for me, I just got back to the country this week and was told I might not be able to see any Sakura at all. My heart was still filled with excitement yet with little expectation of seeing these magnificent flowering trees.

It has been rainy the past days in Minokamo and even when the sun is up, it is quite windy. When the rain falls and the wind blows, sadly, it carries all the petals.

Almost everyone is off work as the Golden week has already started. I called up some of my family living in the same area and we decided to visit one of the nearest park for some fresh air and some catch-up stories.

The park looked so green with no evidence of flowering trees and whatnot. Amazingly, we found two trees standing in the far end of the park with lots of flowers still intact and attached to it.

As a person who enjoys simple things with delight and appreciation, I give much importance to the mere simplicity that makes an object beautiful.

Coming home to these short lived flowers still steadily clinging to their branches is enough relish. Wondering how to find happiness in these small things? Grab some Famichiki and sit under the remaining flowering trees with the cool breeze blowing in your face. Aaah the satisfaction!
